Ever since that day, Akari succeeded a little faster than Naruto throughout their time in school and she did what she could to help him but when the Chunin Exams arrived, she soon met Gaara as him and a few others from his village had arrived for the Exams along with many others and during the Exams, something had happened causing people to get hurt along the way and she felt a close connection to Gaara she hadn't expected to feel and would always be worried about him. As time went on, the both of them would go through a lot together and it caused them to become close and the both of them ended up feeling a certain way towards each other in the end.
