Darkness; it devours everything. Love, happiness and hope disappear like smoke; life turns into death; no creatures but those of the shadows can walk where the darkness has passed. People become heartless and selfish as their eyes become cold and distant. Animals die, the good become the bad as the darkness grows feeding of the hatered. ********** Midnight. Everyone is asleep. Everyone is peaceful. Everyone is dreaming. That's when screams begin, the houses burn down and the people die. Asleep now means dead, peaceful now is chaotic and no one can dream. Emily's village was burnt down in the time of a few minuets, those who survived the fires were immediately slaughtered. The only ones who lived where Emily and her best friend. The creatures had no mercy for the children or the babies or the women and men who cried for their lives. And that's where everything began. That's where, Emily would learn that she wasn't like anybody else and that's where Emily along with three friends had to begin their journey to the other side of the country. Her friendship will be tested, her heart will be broken and she'll have fight like she's never fought before in order to survive the whole way.
