A slip of fanfic loosely based off pages 55-57 of John Marsden's Tomorrow, When the War Began

In English, our assignment was to write a short story. As a class we read the novel: TWTWB (Tomorrow when the war began by John Marsden). Our short stories had to be written about the book (obviously), but written in another characters POV (not Ellie) and written about an event that the reader never saw or an event that the reader read, but in a different POV. I wrote in Kevin's POV, and it was directly after the novel (when Corrie was shot and had to go to the hospital)

As it says above these are my creative writing English assessment pieces I will only put the interesting ones up not the boring and informative persuasive texts.

If we are going to die now, we are going to die heroes, that's how we want it to be and its the only thing we're actually able to agree on. We wanted the war to be over - but we didn't know how it would affect our friendship. I suppose when you're being hunted in a war that's all you talk about, even when you are scared beyond a doubt.

A whole bunch of things about and relating to Tomorrow When The War Began (TWTWB)

In the war we had gone through many things. We had lost friends and maybe even family. All we know is that we had dealt with our fair share of pain.

I wrote this following off a scene from the Novel/Movie/Tv-show "Tomorrow when the war began". Beginning from the section after Elle, Robin and Kevin return from exploring the show grounds, after the were spotted the 3 rushed to safety in a nearby suburb. They eventually reached a house for safety, but whilst hiding a solider came to inspect the house leading to nearly being spotted. The quick thinking Ellie came up with a way to save her and her friends, but by doing so it ended in a young soldiers death. Making that solider the first person Ellie has ever killed. This then leads to the beginning to my story where Ellie decides she needs to make things right whilst in a distraught mindset.

Homer and Lucas are just two teenage boys from the small Australian town of Wirrawee, who waste away their days selling drugs and contraband to survive. But one day everything goes wrong. One thing leads to another and the find themselves in a sticky situation that will change their lives forever... --- English assignment based on Tomorrow When the War Began - the task was to take a character and a setting from the book and create an entirely new story. This story has nothing to do with the original book, so you don't have to have read the original to understand it. The character of Homer Yannos belongs to the original author.
