To save Elena from danger after Victoria Argent thinks Allison and Elena are still together, Derek ends up biting Victoria, who commits suicide before she turns. Held hostage by Matt at a local police station, Elena, Stiles, their parents, and Derek are able to escape, although Elena transforms for the first time in front of her mother, Melissa McCall, leaving her horrified. Elena and Derek's relationship is tested; will they make it? Will Elena and her mom be okay?
