Tyler Joseph and his grandfather had always been close. They would always spend the crisp, autumn late afternoon days by the creek sitting on the grass that was decaying in Tyler's backyard.
"Ty Ty, I can't believe you're turning nine tomorrow. You're growing up so fast on your old Pop Pop."
Tyler looked at the multi-colored fish jumping up from the muddy brown waves from the creek. "I don't know. I don't think my father knows it's my Birthday tomorrow. He's probably too drunk to even realize. He wouldn't care anyways."
Pop Pop patted Tyler's back, reassuring him. "I know it's been hard. Please give him time, I know things haven't been easy since the divorce."
