This is an entry for the Home Before Dark Contest. There are many ways to tell the truth. I'm a Type One Diabetic. For me, speaking truth equates standing in the face of discrimination and negativity associated with any incurable disease. We are strong. We are united. Above all else, we seek to spread truths about life with a disease. Because, at the end of the day, besides my needle tips, insulin pens, and countless blood sugar pricks, I am exactly like you: another human.

Flashing lights. Not knowing what's truly going on. feeling yourself be apart of the situation but also reading the file to confirm it. My rough first go at explaining my type one diabetic story.

A life of a "normal" eighth grader trying to get through their first year of high school. And oh yeah, their trans. And a diabetic.

Yeah... I have type one diabetes... it sucks ass and I should've made this book ages ago so I could vent..

Hinata Shouyou was thrown into the deep end after being diagnosed with type one diabetes. Having to cope with ableism, volleyball and his own mental health, can he keep up? Hi! Me and @Mrbeansaysmagik have co-written this fanfiction, both as type one diabetic writers. It shows the experience of being brand new to diabetes, but through an OC, also shows what it's like to of dealt with this an entire lifetime. Able-bodied people are allowed to read this!
