Mutation. The key to evolution. It's granted the X-men powers undreamed of. But mutation can also go the other way. It can be harmful and even deadly. Not even the X-men can stand against the forces of nature. Or what might be behind those forces.

Xeni has lived with the garden for as long as she could remember. It was the one place she truly felt alive. She could talk to flowers and lived with one of the only gardens remaining in the world. Everything was perfect. However, the paradise didn't last forever. It all came tumbling down when she discovered the seed of a new species. To make matters worse, her garden has suddenly been destroyed. In a desperate attempt to get it all back, she plants the innocent seed. But looks can be deceiving.

Detective Bryan Muster is investigating a series of murders linked to a cult whose members claim to hold psychic powers. The Day Of Judgment cult propagates the end of the world and children seem to be affected by the idea more than anyone. **** The story is based on prompt 7 for the (Unchained Imagination Contest 2023) ¶ A detective investigates a group of psychics for an unusual reason. ¶
