After decades of fruitless attempts, the trio finally make their escape, ripping an Evil-Scientist-sized hole in the fabric of space-time in the process (with help from Bertram). Now all that stands between them and total dominion over the multiverse are two fuzzy marsupials from N. Sanity Island, along with an intellectual baby and talking dog (Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time belongs to Activision, Family Guy belongs to Fox).

When Cortex hears the ending of the story, he vows that he'll write his own version of The Little Mermaid. In his version, Sonja is the Mermaid who saved Cortex from drowning after Crash defeated him. Cortex will be sure that there's an ending where Sonja won't turn into sea foam.
