You wake up on a strange island. As you get to know everyone 3 main people stand out. Nagito (Ultimate Lucky Student) Who seems to have taken an interest in you...well more like an obsession. The other two being your two best friends, Chiaki (Ultimate Gamer) and Hajime (Ultimate Hope). In the end will you choose one person or all.

Sixteen students were all accepted into a famous academy only for the best of the best at a skill. Each and every one of them were excited. The day had come for them to start their new lives in here. Boy, its going to be way different than they expected.

The 'mastermind' has decided to play one final game with Makoto Naegi, to prove himself as the Ultimate Hope or the Ultimate Despair... What starts out platonic becomes a romantic story that runs into the threads of deep despair with only a shred of hope to hang onto. What happens when things become just a little more complicated than a high school romance was meant to be? Will you succeed at winning his heart that you didn't know you were chasing after? Will you and Chiaki be able to save your friends? Will Nagito be able to save you? . . . This book takes place during the Despair Arc and later books continue in chronological order of the series installments.
