    Monica Lake was a writer, beautiful and single, who didn't think New Years was anything special. People all around her viewed it as a new start, but none of them believed that as much as the Governments' science division ('New Search') and intellegence agency (CIA). Together, by accident, they bring about the Apocolypse, and now, the living-dead roam where poeple once did and Monica finds her whole life is nothing now too. But she's not alone: she has 'Gaz', the human with little memories to speak of and an immunity to the dead when they come to bite. Together, they have to venture to find the cure, or join the ranks of the undead like so many have already.
