What lurks within the abyss? Deep beneath Earth's expansive oceans, there exists a race of people unbeknownst to most humans, who live in an underwater realm all their own- the Seafolk. An ancient evolutionary offshoot of human beings, these mysterious entities dwell in the remote depths of the sea, their forms taking after an array of sea creatures to create a society of waterbound humanoids perfectly adapted to their environment. Loosely structured kingdoms of Seafolk exist throughout the world, and one of these is the domain of Princess Tamayori, the oarfish folk ruler of the Sea of Japan. Set to marry Prince Stellaris of the Antarctic Ocean to unite the two distant kingdoms, the message of her betrothal falls into the hands of Kurage, a jellyfish folk who serves the princess as one of her many loyal messengers. Determined to faithfully serve her beloved master, Kurage embarks on a dangerous journey into the open sea alongside Chrystal, a fellow jellyfish messenger who isn't pleased about her job being assigned to someone else. The two messengers must put aside their differences and work together to survive the perils of the great ocean, realizing that the world is far bigger and more unfathomable than they could have ever imagined. As the treacharous trip continues, they also soon discover that the royals of the Seafolk, including Princess Tamayori, are not as noble as they seem...

20-year old Maria Ramirez and 21-year old Lucas Hannigan are prolific ocean explorers selected to explore the Mariana Trench's Challenger Deep to discover more species of sea life. While down in the depths of Challenger Deep, they receive a distress signal like no other- "Whoever's out there, please help! Ceto has been captured! Find the cave where the jellyfish gather!" Rushing to help whoever is in trouble at this depth, they find the cave and charge inside- to find themselves in a whole new world. Diana, queen of the merpeople, desperately needs their help. Ceto, the goddess of sea monsters, was captured by the apex predators of her realm- a prehistoric mashup of a chilling variety of sea monsters- massive sea crocodiles, giant squids the size the Empire State Building, dinosaurs who should have gone extinct millions of years ago, and worst of all- the megalodon. The undersea realm of monsters has been thrown out of balance, and the apex predators control nearly every territory in the hidden world of water- except for the city of Aquaris, where Diana's people live deep inside a sea cliff. With an army of merpeople behind them, Maria, Lucas, and Diana must find a way to free Ceto and save her realm before the apex predators control everything- and before the humans run out of oxygen in their tanks.

An underwater city is developed as a precursor to creating the first city on another world. The first generation of born residents appear to be different from the 'parent' population of the City. Will the ancient city in ruins found while the city was being built hold the answers or more questions? How far different are the children of the first residents from their parents, the younger generation finds out and discovers there might be more to it than just an adaptation to living at the bottom of the Ocean.

A mer-girl they have named Sherez, and having waited in isolation until she is strong enough, they embark on another adventure in their ploy to quell the abandoning of the ocean by searching for Nepulus. They happen upon an abandoned cave, and through Sherez find a way to save the lives of all merfolk without the need for the human mating madness. They also discover some things about their young one which will change their lives forever.

Having stopped the need to leave the ocean, and consequently the nghoza mating madness, Morg, with Serez, can't wait to spread the word. She's found sanction with a group of asperini and is soon introduced to Nepulus. And then learns what she really let loose in those tunnels...
