I was a normal girl once. I didn't even live near an ocean. I did love it though. I always craved for the waves to hit my feet as they got buried in the sand. That's what led me to my dream job. Marine Biology. I wanted to work in the ocean. I just didn't expect to find my soulmate in the process. Did I mention he's a merman? __________________________________________________________________________ Growing up Ame always loved the sea. So when she wen't to collage that's what she studied, the sea. Only one day after taking a swim she meets her mate and everything changes.

He added simply, as if he were the normal one. But nothing about any sorts of this was 'normal'. "Yes, I got that!" I threw my arms arms up in exasperation.

I started to swim up, but I was pulled back when James didn't release my hand. I looked back and he had an urgent expression on his face. "If you are not back on the beach before the light leaves the horizon, I coming to look for you." "James, I may not trust you." I said giving him what I hoped was a sincere look. "But I never make it a habit of mine to brake my promises." With that he let me go, and I was left to wonder what the hell I had gotten myself into. Arina just wants to take a relaxing vacation with her family and escape life of problems for a little while. But after some strange and dangerous encounters with the sea's inhabitants, she might just be dragged down into the depths of a whole different world of troubles. I don't know completely how this book is going to go, but I will finish it and I plan on making it awesome. I may or may not include some scenes that may not be appropriate for younger viewers. (Just a warning)

The twenty-first entry of the 2020-2021 Film Journal is "Children of the Sea". Here, I examine my odd love for oceanic stories, the picture's stunning animation, and the perplexing but memorable final section of this unexpected piece.

Life under the sea is far from easy. Mermaids hide in fear of being claimed by the ruthless mermen. The thought of being dragged to shore and mating with one of those monsters terrifies Sirena to her core. The only merman she has ever seen was her father. He was cruel to both her and her mother. That is why she fled at the age of six. She has lived alone ever since. She knows she has to hide from all other creatures, for she is no normal mermaid. What happens when she is found, by the King no less?

We all know the stories that end in happily ever after, but these all seem rather trivial at the surface level. What if our favorite characters had psychological stresses like each one of us? (anxiety, PTSD, etc.)? My creation is a modern (Cell Phones/Cars/etc.) take on what happens right after the wedding scene on the barge. It's our favorite couple, Ariel/Eric, facing the life ahead of them of being in charge of the kingdom, and eventual task of starting a family. This tells the adventures, troubles & everything in between. Queen Athena's still alive. No crossovers/genderbends, but HEA. All references belong to Disney, and this story is dedicated to the "Little Mermaid" cast, Howard Ashman, and all of the dreamers like me out there, who continue to look for the next adventure. I hope you enjoy.
