ruby was a young and quick witted girl, who thought she knew all of life's tricks. but when she falls in love with joe, the tricks up her sleeve disappear. when joe is sent off for war, ruby will have to find a way to fight life's battles alone, like it used to be. with the fear of joe being killed in war, and the thought of having to go back to the way she used to be will tear ruby apart. how will she win a battle she was never prepared to fight?

"What's the matter with Vinnie?" Tree watched Vinnie side-step very unsteadily to the dug-out, catching the attention of the others, who looked over. "Dude is he okay?" Garvey asked quietly. Vinnie was moving slower. All of a sudden he toppled over, straight to the ground. "Oh sh**!" The guys shouted. Just a short one-shot where Vinnie collapses on the field one day during a game and the boys comfort him. Includes swearing.
