A Short Story: 'Dumating siya sa buhay ko sa isang kurap, Pero nawala din siya sa buhay ko sa isang iglap.'

A short poem that I wrote during writing club. We were supposed to write children's stories but they all became very morbid. Whoops. My friend liked mine and told me I should post it here, so I did. The poem is based on real events, sadly. It's about what some children used to do after reading Peter Pan (before the author J.M.Barie put in the part about pixie dust) and believing they could fly. P.S. I promise I'm not insane.

Lloyd Garmadon was the picture perfect guy. He had everything, the grades, looks, personality. He avoided trouble like the plague so what happens when he seemingly falls to Harumi Jades feet. Harumi Jade embodied trouble. She bathed in it like it was the sun and enjoyed the soft glow it gave her. So not Lloyd's type but resisting his better judgement, he soon fell in love with trouble. If I told you Jace McKinnon and I had a happy ending, I'd be lying. Just between us, that's all we really were. A lie. We never went to prom, got engaged and eventually married. I loved him and I lost him. I never really had Jace, though. To him I was just a girl with nice boobs and a whore complex. And to me, he was everything. Which by the way, was NOT what I had planned. Jace was my best friend and literally all I had left. And after all of the bullshit I went through with love, I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting this. We agreed one day, at around two AM that relationships were useless. I was heartbroken, he was just done altogether. We also agreed that we definitely weren't going to fall in love, and even acting that way would be absurd. But one day he asked me how I felt about him. I told him I saw galaxies in his eyes. It might have been a quote on Tumblr, but it was 'our quote.' We had a lot of things. But love was not one of them. The messages didn't mean shit to him, but they were all I had to make me smile. But this isn't MY Story. We'll save that for another time. This is the story of Jace and I - a love that remained galaxies away.

This is the book I'll write in for unhappy endings. It'll be very sad. Very. Sad.
