Unimportant Stories

Amara Okoye. Quiet. Shy. Afraid of human interactions. Invisible. It's what she writes about most. The silence. The loneliness. The cold that exists where people should have been. She's grown used to it-learned how to live in it. Until she meets them. People just like her. People who understand the silence rather than judge it. Who make it feel less like something to endure... and more like something to belong to. For the first time, she fits. Among her own group of misfits-their own unique court. But everything begins to shift when she meets a girl who refuses to look past her like the rest-who sees her in ways she has never allowed herself to be see. Who tells her of a different future than the one she has accepted. And slowly, painfully, Amara begins to question the truth she's always written down, always believed: Was she really born to be unimportant and trampled upon? Or... was it something she had chosen?
