That certainty is what reads as age to everyone who meets him; it isn't a costume, it's just who he is, and it's precisely why Elena never suspects him of being anything other than a self-possessed man in his mid-twenties. Elena Voss is twenty-nine, a rising associate on the edge of partnership track, sharp enough that people mistake her composure for coldness. She has built her entire adult life around control - of her cases, her calendar, her heart. Every major decision she's made has been deliberate, researched, defensible. Julian is the one thing in twenty-nine years that simply happened to her, without a plan behind it, and for a while that's exactly what she loves about him. They meet at a rooftop industry mixer the week before Julian's semester starts, a party he's only at because Theo's older brother works at the firm hosting it - Theo, Julian's closest friend since they were kids (their fathers are colleagues at the same hospital, and the two boys grew up in and out of each other's houses long before they ended up as college roommates by design). Elena clocks him as young - twenty-three, twenty-four, she guesses - and decides she doesn't care. Neither of them asks the question that would end the night before it starts.

Theo decides to stop back into a small coffee shop in the freezing snow of Minnesota, one that he hasn't gone to in a while because he hasn't been able to afford it. But during the couple of months he hadn't gone to the small shop, it had picked up a new regular; a handsome, heavy-browed young man. When Theo quickly notices something strange with the handsome boy's behavior, he opts to figure out why. Warnings: This story contains an abusive relationship and some blood (Also some, light, suggestive material.) If you find any of these things disturbing, I recommend you do not read this.

This is a light-hearted satire on uni life. The first 11 chapters were written during my time at Exeter University. This is the story of 52 weeks of my life (loosely based anyways). I am 20, a third-year university student studying Sociology and I work part-time at a big supermarket. I often struggle with mental health and managing stress and I am painfully introverted so socialising and friendships are something I often struggle with. There will be some personal discoveries throughout the year but who knows where we will end up but thats all of the fun right? Let's see where this wild ride of a year will take us.
