Amberly has a problem that marks her by the rest of her piers "abnormal." Amberly has a medical condition where her body is unable to sustain water. This leads to the effects that don't allow her to cry correctly, be very fit and active, or even go to the restroom without medical attention and needs. Blood would stream from her eyes and out of her pores instead of sweat and tears. Life was hard enough as a student. All Amberly wanted to do was cry because of it, but she couldn't.
But what happens when her body finally accepts and merges with water at 16? She is finally normal and is rejoicing in joy, but not for long. When her mom sits her down to talk to her, but suddenly disappears she can finally cry. Yet somehow something feels odd when she's pulled into a mysterious world where she is marked as special and divine. That her blood can do more because it has finally been readied.
Scared for a life she no longer wants, Amberly tries to run from what she thought would be a now normal life, except now she wishes she could go back to her premature, before 16, now viewed as normal life.
