Dad chuckled.
"I didn't ask for your permission," he said coldly. "And you don't have a choice."
I pressed my lips together.

"You may leave," he said.
I stood up immediately.
"Have a good day, Mr. Malhotra," I murmured, walking towards the door.
Then I stopped.

I turned around. Dad looked at me, his eyebrows furrowed.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Malhotra," I said quickly, before he could throw me out, "but you didn't tell me who you signed the deal with... or where I'm going."
"Oh. You didn't ask," he replied casually.
Then he said the words that shattered me.
"You're going to Spain. You'll work under Mr. Alex Cortes-CEO of the Cortes Empire."
I froze.
It felt like my soul left my body.
My breath came out uneven, my heart skipping a terrifying beat.
