Y/n Aisling (Pronounced Ash-ling) was a strange kid. His gaze always a bit distant, his actions a bit too light, and his thoughts always a away from reality. He lived in his imagination and his dreams more than he did reality. He dreamt of a fantasy world that, while rather dark and bleak in some ways, granted him his little comforts. His family? His Father was absent and his Mother far too overworked to give him attention. His school? They saw him as a slacker, troubled youth on his way to a waste of life. His friends? How could such a weird boy who'd rather sleep than play or hang out ever find friends? Aisling for all intensive purposes was alone with his thoughts, with his imagination, and with his dreams. He had been building up his dream, his beautiful little world that lived and grew without him. The world that whenever he closed his eyes he would open them to something magical and new. There was darkness, despair, horrors, and so much pain but equally there was so much beauty, hope, light, and so so much love that it all felt so real. Now imagine his shock when Aisling finds himself dreaming when he hasn't even closed his eyes yet...

For many reasons I am going to keep my identity anonymous. For now. This is a book that I'm going to write all my problems into, a stress relief book. Ive dealt with these issues for so long I'm unable to hold it in anymore and I just need to type it away. Some people might be struggling with similar issues so I just want you to know you're not alone. It's important to always keep positive and although that's easier said than done, it will do you good in the long run. This is my first book/stress relief and I'd definitely love some feedback on how to deal with these issues and for anyone out there who needs a helping hand/advice/feedback or some sort of support, please don't be afraid to share your story.

** Winner of The Watty's 2014: Collector's Dream Award ** ** This is a true story. Now FULLY edited ** I was diagnosed with Cancer a week before my 16th Birthday. I had Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and had to undergo Chemotherapy and a Stem Cell transplant, back in 2003. My whole life changed. I wrote this book when I was 17, when all my treatment was over, to catalogue everything I had learned and experienced. I had no information about Cancer during my treatment; it was all aimed at adults and I was a teenager who didn't understand most of what happened. So I wrote this book. I was a teenager when I wrote, when I had Cancer and I wanted this to be an information, honest account of what it was really like to have Cancer and go through the treatment....from a teenager's perspective. It's sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always honest. There may be parts that you squint at, because you're embarrassed to read them...well, I was embarrassed writing them. But that's the whole point of honesty. To get it out in the open. To be real. And that's what this is.
