Optimus, Bumblebee, and the other Autobots have gone into hiding to avoid being found by Cemetery Wind. but when Cade Yeager, a lonely widower and inventor from Texas living with his 17-year-old daughter Tessa finds a familiar red-and-blue semi truck which turns out to be a badly-injured Optimus Prime. together Optimus and the Yeagers embark on the road trip of a lifetime across the country to re-assemble team prime and put a stop to Lockdown and Cemetery Wind, and on the way they uncover a sinister conspiracy to discredit the Autobots using man-made Transformers built by the KSI corporation known as Project: Chimaera
