Elinor Margaret Rosewood Cohen is a lucky girl, she has semi famous parents and a very well known grandfather her family is well off and she's even a double talent! Could her life be any better? Or at least that's what my mother's kind think. I'm Elmry and I'm not a double talent, some people call me that, but it doesn't count, not when neither of your talents are right. Maybe if my mom hadn't married another freak I wouldn't be like this, it's not that I don't like my dad, as far as dads go he's pretty great, but he's wonky too. I had no chance at being good, with two freaks as parents I was doomed before I was ever born, everyone at my old school knew it, even the people who were too polite to say it. My dad is a double talent but unlike me he has a real talent along with his wonky one.

This is a crossover fic with Upside-Down Magic, but if you don't read the series, you can just pretend this is a magical AU. Here I have each of the WoF characters as a Fluxer, a Fuzzy, a Flicker, a Flare or a Flyer. Fluxers can turn into animals. Fuzzies can communicate with animals. Flickers can turn themselves or others invisible. Flares can shoot fire from their fingertips. And Flyers can, well, fly. But not all magic fits under the five Fs perfectly. Principle Gonzales has caught wind of the Sparkies bullying. So what does he do? But JMS isn't an ordinary school. With it's strict but wonky rules, the 5th grade flares are feeling a bit put out.

Rune hates her magic, she thinks it's wonky and she knows Sage is only letting her in because of the publicity of having a weird student. 13year old Nory Boxwood discovered that she can flux into animals and her best friend Reina Carjaval can conjure and manipulate flames. Together, they enter into Sage Academy for magical studies. Unlike Reina who did perfectly well in the placement tests, Nory failed woefully to flux into the exact animal she was asked to. For not being able to flux in the 'sage way', she was sent to the substandard UDM section of the school. With the other kids who were also sent there, Nory struggles to find herself. Can they discover their true potentials and save the school from shadow magic?
