Disclaimer - I don't own My Time At Sandrock. This was written for the orange belt for Write to Rank 2022. The prompt was to write a 750-800 word story where, "urban exploration is a hobby, but tonight something feels...wrong. What happens?" I also have to write in an active voice. Originally I was going to focus on the builder's hometown and the use of gliding to explore that urban area, but then I looked into what urban exploring is and realize that exploring abandoned buildings is what one does when one relic hunts counts. For those who don't know the fandom, the Corrupted Age is what led to the post-appocaluptic setting and from that there are a lot of abandoned buildings.

What do you do when exploring an abandoned mental hospital goes wrong? Run, of course. But wait, what if you can't?

Some hatches should never be opened. Arthur was just another urban explorer chasing the thrill of abandoned places - until he found the hatch on the Scottish cliffs. Heavy, rusted, and half-buried in the earth, it shouldn't have opened. But it did. Beneath it lies the forgotten remains of a Cold War facility and of the Thalassian Order. Something still lurks inside that remembers the people who left it behind. Now Arthur is trapped in a nightmare of flickering lights, collapsing tunnels, and whispers that never stop. His only hope is to go deeper. Because whatever lives in the Vessel doesn't want him to leave.

Młody artysta, chcąc przełamać lęk, z pomocą przyjaciela postanawia zmienić swoje introwertyczne życie. Oj bardzo daleko... Dlaczego? Oryginalnym pomysłem było stworzenie gry o tym samym tytule. Sam pomysł stworzenia książki zrodził się nieco później gdy zaczęłam gubić się w fabule i wątkach. W odległych planach mam też zrobienie komiksu po polsku (i angielsku, bo niestety nie potrafię pisać książek w innych językach) oraz promowanie książki w animacjach na moim yt (@Merikas) i tt (@merikas_mer)!!! Cameron Oakland has always been a stereotypical 'good boy' always working hard in classes, making his parents proud, but what happens when a new boy transfers in mid class to shift his good nature to one of rebellion??
