Some hatches should never be opened. Arthur was just another urban explorer chasing the thrill of abandoned places - until he found the hatch on the Scottish cliffs. At the end of a run-down street stands an abandoned skyscraper. A pair of urban explorers, Niăo and Jonah, have decided to recon the forsaken structure. The building holds a history of disturbing rumors, but Niăo's secret may be the key to a dark truth the tower hides.

When Alex and Jamie meet at school, they discover an unexpected bond: a love for roller coasters. What starts as a simple trip to visit parks becomes something more when they begin to notice strange, recurring signs-symbols that seem to follow them from place to place. Are they just coincidences... or is something trying to get their attention? this is the first part of a 5 book long story. Enjoy!

Disclaimer - I don't own My Time At Sandrock. This was written for the orange belt for Write to Rank 2022. The prompt was to write a 750-800 word story where, "urban exploration is a hobby, but tonight something feels...wrong. What happens?" I also have to write in an active voice. Originally I was going to focus on the builder's hometown and the use of gliding to explore that urban area, but then I looked into what urban exploring is and realize that exploring abandoned buildings is what one does when one relic hunts counts. For those who don't know the fandom, the Corrupted Age is what led to the post-appocaluptic setting and from that there are a lot of abandoned buildings.

Fifteen is too young to die, but the school doesn't care about age. What started as a hunt for ghosts becomes a desperate fight for survival when Mike vanishes into thin air. As the smell of decay grows and the doors lock themselves, Alex and his friends realize they aren't the investigators anymore. They're the prey.
