A year and a half after the defeat of Galbatorix at the hands of Eragon and the Varden, Alagaësia has moved forward - without Eragon. Abroad training the two new Riders that have been sent to him, Eragon's mind is attacked by a force far more powerful than Galbatorix was. The only problem? The only people around for thousands of leagues are Blödhgarm and the elves, the new Riders and their dragons and himself and Saphira. Who could this new threat be? Read more to find out! A quick note: Obviously I don't own any of the characters created by Christopher Paolini in his series the Inheritance Cycle, and don't claim any credit for them. However, any new characters in this fan fiction are solely my own creation, and belong to me. This applies for the whole book (mainly as I'm rather lazy and can't be bothered putting it in at the start of every chapter like I see sometimes)

"Just how," Arya spoke, each word sharply enunciated, "did you happen to lose track. Of. A. Dragon?" It's been thirty years since the overthrowing of Galbatorix. Alagaesia was in an age of harmony. The rulers of each race were allies. All was peaceful. Until, an egg hatched, seemingly without a rider. Which was impossible because this one had been bound for a rider. Unsure of what else to do, Queen Arya declares the dragon should be raised alongside elves and then sent to Eragon's land alone. But the young dragon managed to escape at night. Now, instead of her simple life of caretaking, the young female elf, Theanil, whose hand the dragon's wellbeing was placed in, must leave her home in pursuit of a runaway hatchling. With the help of a human boy and a renowned witch, she finds the silvery dragon with her rightful rider... Geclaz was already an outcast of his urgal tribe. When a silver mark appeared on his palm, he was even more ostracized. And now, to add to his luck, he starts hearing a voice in his head.

This is a prequel to the Inheritance Cycle. This is how the first Dragon Riders came to be and how they change to help Alagaesia from those who wish to harm it. Once the truce between dragons and elves is made the dragons gave the elves three eggs, once they hatched the new riders must train to become the heroes and protectors Eragon (the original one not Eragon Brom's son) expects them to be, but then the new queen Dellanir forbids dragon riders to enter the elves' forests, making it a little more difficult. Afterwards Eragon appoints the Rider's new leader and leaves with another rider to explore other lands beyond the Edda River. Winner of the TR Awards in the Group 3 (1k views) category

:SPOILERS FOR INHERITANCE CYCLE: Uruk is an Urgal. He lives in on of his kinds wealthier villages. It is in the Spine, in the land between Narda and Tierm. Some of the other Urgals things Uruk is strange. He uses bows, a raid weapon, every day. He is weak and quiet. Even his name sounds small. Galbatorix is gone and an egg has gone to the dwarves and and egg has gone to the Urgals. Eragon has used the name of the ancient language to make it possible for dragons to choose either of the two races for their Riders, as well as elves and humans. Every three months the egg is passed around the village in hopes it will hatch. This has gone on for only six months but the Herndall as beginning to worry. They need Riders, and NOW. Will it ever hatch? -I do now own the ideas, or many of the characters. Much of the credit goes to the Inheritance Cycle author, Christopher Paolini-
