What does it mean to grow while carrying expectations, culture, and dreams?
Daneen has been a consistent valedictorian since elementary through high school. She often wonders what it feels like to have true freedom without always feeling pressured to excel in her studies.
She longs to be heard and seen, without having to try so hard just to earn attention. She is only human, after all. She gets tired and has random breakdowns from being overly conscious of her grades. She dislikes the constant pressure from her parents, yet feels she has no choice but to stay competitive, even when it brings her so much struggle.
When she transfers to a new school, will she finally be free to choose the path she truly wants? Or is this only the beginning of another challenging chapter in her life?
But what if, in that very same school and classroom, she meets Elias, another consistent top student? Will this change her perspective on life, or will it only spark an even tougher competition?
