This was her last year and she wanted to complete her goal. Umeko didn't really have much interest in anything other than the creative arts so it was only natural she didn't know much about volleyball. She had no reason to go to the gym, no reason to talk to the members of the club and certainly no reason to meet the captain of the team. However, a series of totally unplanned cliché events changed that. Soon she found herself very involved with the team and especially it's captain.

The girl's team is headed by third year Ishiwaka Haruka, known as the girl who made Shiratorizawa Academy's High school girl's team win nationals for two consecutive years. Haruka leads a game with her sheer skill and strength knowing that she lacks the height for volleyball. She's here to prove that volleyball isn't always about height. The boy's team, on the other hand, is led by Ushijima Wakatoshi. A left-handed wing spiker who shares the same thought with his coach: 'Simple is best.'
