I'm writing this story based on the Anime, I never read the manga or the novel. Despite the title, the story introduces a vast expansion in the world and lore of gate as well as changes, but everything remains true to the Gate formula. At first It was supposed to be only a Gate X Marine fanfic but over time it developed into an alternative plot line diverging from the original so don't be surprised why the first season strictly sticks to canon.

I don't think you have any choice to who your heart chooses to love. It sometimes chooses someone who will cause you pain, regret, desire, jealousy, it might even choose someone who leaves this pit in your stomach that never goes away because your not sure when your time with them is up. Life doesn't come with much choice, what happens, even though it doesn't always seem like it. It was meant to happen. To me, a love story is an individualized series of events that are also known as your "love life". Your first love, the girl you fell in love with in 4th grade, your first kiss. Everyone has a love story; it could be long and scary, or it could be that you have no love life at all. Personally, I feel like I have been through a lot, romance/love - wise. I have been pressured to do things I didn't want, I have been emotionally abused, lied to. I have fallen in love and had my heart broken all within a month by the same person. I have been in a long distance relationship and military relationship. In fact, those last two are what this story will be focused on. I am still in that relationship, but things are not necessarily easy. I needed an outlet, something I could pour my feelings into; so I decided to tell my story, and keep it up to date as my life carries on. Maybe one day I'll tell the stories of my past relationships, but not quite yet. *Every chapter is true, this story is about my life and my current relationship*
