It's like someone set up the perfect civilization starter kit, but forgot to mention that some of these folks are dead set on turning this dreamland into their own personal dystopia. And with their magical abilities, they're like toddlers wielding chainsaws-adorably dangerous, but mostly just dangerous. Meanwhile, me and my merry band of misfit friends are stuck trying to save this world from self-destruction. Because apparently, we're the only ones who read the brochure about this place being a "civilized society based on values." And while we're at it, I'm also on a little side quest to answer the age-old question: Who am I? It's not like I have bigger things to worry about, like, I don't know, preventing magical Armageddon or anything. With a charming mix of wit, sarcasm, and a healthy dose of "what-the-heck-is-going-on," the story of Serenus follows our nameless protagonist as they unravel the mysteries of this strange land, all while trying to avoid becoming dino-chow or the latest victim of a magical mishap. It's a tale of self-discovery, magical frisking, and just trying to survive another day in this oh-so-serene-and completely crazy-world.

I used to be like them. Popular. Loved by all. Happy. Then life took a dump then rigged an explosion. Family turned into meaningless strangers who's words never reached to heart as they had a newfound obsession. That oh so happy seven year old was getting everything she ever wanted. A new iPad, Gucci and Chanel. And that was just a random cheap thing my parents bought apparently. They keep on forgetting my birthday or what I achieved at school. It was always Sammi this, Sammi that. I'm not necessarily jealous, just craving the attention that Sammi was getting. As a seven year old I was left to my own devices and never saw my parents as they went on business trips. They never listened to my issues as rumours spread at school that I was a freak. I couldn't help it. It was an accident. I never meant to hurt anyone. My friends deserted me and my family ignored me. Cliché rich girl vibes. My thorns are not visible but they are there. And God help anyone who tries to clip my thorns. As what rose is without her thorns?

Have you ever felt out of control? After the second Gen of Humans has been destroyed in the Burnings and the third learned From their war and bloodbath, the fourth generation is finally the perfect world. Gone is the climate change that led to the first demise, and gone is the barbaric inability to control emotions. There is no climate change, there is no mass pollution or violence, the world has been. . .set back. . . as if the Industrial Revolution and all our modern day aspects of life have just. . .vanished. There is only one flaw to this everlasting utopia. And they are the MIs. We are here. We are breathing. And we are waiting for the moment to escape.
