A year after the war Sasuke was released from prison and ventured on a journey of self-redemption for his crimes. Naruto left with him on a journey of his own, to learn more about his clan, his mother's clan. However, while going through the ruins that is his ancestrial home, Naruto accidentally activated a seal that sent back Two Decades into the past.

Naruto brings Sasuke back to the village, but everyone ignores the him and pay more attention to Sasuke. He desperately waits for everything to change back to the way things were; hoping for all his friends to thank him, but after realizing that they weren't, he gives up on the leaf village. Out of anger, Naruto leaves his home, along with the only one who admired him and they're never seen again. Five years later... The leaf village has grown lazy and weak, Tsunade gives all her attention to the Rookie 9 and team Gai. Konohamaru is disgusted by the once proud and powerful village that his grandfather had died for, was now lacking Chunin and Jonin because of the Hokage's favoritism for the four teams. He encounters a mysterious ninja who tells him of a village that was once destroyed, was out on an island in the ocean. Konohamaru is given the choice to leave his birth village along with the other Genin to a place were he'll feel appreciated and a village with more power.
