Obi-Wan surviving the Death Star leads to Vader's TIE fighter being shot down in the dogfight over its surface as it approaches the Rebel base at Yavin IV. And when Vader crashes on the planet, not too far from the Rebels, Leia finds herself dealing with much more than her grief over losing Alderaan and her family there as she comes face to face with her birth father.

Right after Shmi sends Anakin to the Jedi, she's suddenly transported over thirty years into the future, onto the bridge of the Executor when Vader is searching for Luke. Vader isn't terribly keen on his mother knowing who he's become, but Shmi figures out fast he's a slave, and she's going to do whatever she can to help him, whether he's her long-lost son or not.

They've gone through eight Imperial bases in the last fifteen days, but Echo, Hunter, and Wrecker won't stop, not until they find Omega and bring her back. But on the ninth base, they walk into a trap. Echo doesn't know what to make of the dark-armored cyborg waiting for them, or his insistence on helping once he hears about Omega. And why does he seem so familiar?

An injury during their duel on Mustafar leaves Anakin and Obi-Wan memoryless. They have no idea how they ended up there, much less what is happening. All they can do is make the best of their situation and try to piece together the future that they lived and lost.
