A woman runs from everything. A songbird joins her from nowhere, singing colors and images. A whisperer finds the pair among a field of poplars and graves. A dark and vicious viper stalks them from deep in the earth. They must flee from the Viper, at any cost. They must reach their safe haven--Aeolia. On the way there, the woman and bird pass strange and foreign places--including the Bridge to Infinity, where they are blessed by the Mist; Canvas Valley, where they walk along Aeolian train tracks; Seasons' Spiral, where the seasons fight on an open savanna; Dreams' Lattice, home to a grand tamperer; and many more. Along the way, new creatures help the woman and bird. But every time the Viper comes close, they choose to run--until at last they can't any longer. They must fight or die. LUMAKI si Liberty Villaruel na pagpipinta ang kinahihiligan. She loves art materials. She lives for the beautiful paintings she make. Pinangarap niyang maging isang kilalang artist. Kaya naman, ginusto niyang mas gumaling at mag-explore. Pinili niyang magbakasyon sa farm na pagmamay ari ng kaniyang Papa. She thought it might inspired her more if she'll go to a place that's new to her. Bagong environment. Bagong mga tanawin. Pero imbis na simpleng inspirasyon ay ibang klaseng emosyon ang natagpuan niya. She met Caliban Adhastre. Ang anak ng kanilang farm manager. Isang makisig na binata na talaga namang ibang-iba sa mga preskong lalaki sa syudad na kinalakihan niya. Noong una, natutuwa lamang siya sa presensiya ng lalaki. Madalas silang nagkasama dahil ito ang sumasama sakanya sa pag-iikot sa farm. Pero hindi na lang pala basta "entertainment" ang nararamdaman niya. Mukhang.. nadadala na siya sa ngiti at kabaitan ni Caliban. -- "Magkaibigan lang kami ni Caliban," sabi ko sa mga trabahador na patuloy akong tinutudyo kay Caliban. "Isa pa, baka may nobya siya..." "Wala." Halos lahat sila ay napalingon sa maagap na pagsagot nito. Pakiramdam ko'y nanigas ang leeg ko roon. I didn't want to look at him knowing he's looking at me. Parang may kung anong umiikot sa tiyan ko. "Wala akong nobya, Liberty."
