The desolate Claw Isle struggles to manage even it's own upkeep, and it's rocky shores and infertile lands make for little in terms of villages and renown. Fishermen and sailors, little more than that. With the decline of the Targaryens following the Dance of Dragons, the Valyrian families of Velaryon, Sunglass, & Celtigar forced to choose : black or green, have seen their household thinned as much as the royals. Enter, Maurane Waters, a dragonseed of no real note. Misplaced hubris in his supposed heritage bring him no glory, he simply serves as one of the many bastards and descendants of an ancient line. Not all tales remain sung by prancing bards. Some fall from history, consumed by time, as words are wind, and the breeze shifts as the wheel turns.

Decades after the fall of Daenerys Targaryen, Jon going to the wall, and the throne being passed down to Sansa after Bran's death. A girl has surfaced claiming she is the last Targaryen with silver hair and piercing purple eyes. Hidden all of her life, at age 16 she finally seeks out help to the Queen who lives at Dragonstone, her home.

As Archmaester Gyldayn presented his alternative telling of histories befalling the Targaryen dynasty, this short story is and alternative telling of his. ASOIAF lacks pov characters of ruling Targaryens and their kin, although much of the story is influenced by them. This story humanizes the family and gives an insight look at which personal struggles they would have faced. This story focuses on King Jaehaerys I and the Good Queen Alysanne's three eldest living children: Aemon, Baelon and Alyssa. The story commences accurately and paying homage to canon, then shows a series of events that could have befallen. Much detail has been paid to match canon and the tone of source material. Just a generation before Westeros would have suffered 'the Dance of the Dragons' another succession war complicates the Targaryen dynamics. The story commences a week prior to Baelon and Alyssa's union.

The sweet butterfly of House Targaryen narrowly escaped with her life as the rebellion came to an end. Hidden in the sand, she emerged a dragon with only a desire for freedom and peace. Balerion, the valyrian god of death, decides he will not allow the house of the dragon to end in such a distasteful manner after the death of Daenerys Stormborn and the exile of Jon Snow. The War of heirs or Dance of the Dragons was a civil war during Targaryen rule of the Seven Kingdoms. A war of succession between Aegon II and Rhaenyra over their father Viserys I's throne, the war was fought from 130 AC to 132 AC. Dragon for Dragon Aegon's claim was based on the fact that he was the first born male of King Viserys while Rhaenyra's claim was based on the fact that Viserys had named her heir to Dragonstone and the Iron Throne and that King had supported this decision until his last breath. The birth of Rhaenyra's three daughters seemed to ease tensions, Visenya II Targaryen, first born, heir to the queen, pearl of the kingdom and ward of King Viserys. She was loved by everyone, from Queen Alice who voted for her and from Prince Aemond for whom she represented a debt in exchange for her eye. The princess had taken everything from her father Prince Daemon Targaryen, unstable and protective of her family. Aemma II, the rebel princess, had everything her mother valued, she was the first female swordsman in Westeros, promised to Aegon (crazy in love with the princess) she had been sent by Visenya and daemon to sit on the green councils and monitor them, she had been called "black spy" during the dance. Lyanna Targaryen, the People's Princess. She loved living in the lower world, abandoned herself to royal tasks and offered her possessions to the people, which had been a great advantage during the dance, she had been promised to Lord Cregan Stark. For several years everything seemed to be going well, but in 129 Ac, the death of Ser Harwin Strong at the hands of Lord Gwayne Hightower deteriorated the relationship between green and black. Gwayne was executed for treason by Visenya and Aegon with the help of Otto and Larys Strong usurped the throne. The dance took hold and the War of the Heirs began with the death of Prince Lucerys Targaryen.
