This is a Short story of Princess Vanathi and Ponniyin Selvan. The romance that is much needed but also the ones we weren't fed properly in PS, I wanted to recreate it.

I understand that try I might, but I will not be able to replicate or even draw near Kalki's style of writing. However, this is a pet project, so here we go. Kundavai sighed quietly, as she took in the Princesses who surrounded her, all frivolous, giggling and cunning. She appreciated the cunning of Princesses, for how else would one advance forward? And yet...she needed something more. A little more ideal, a little more malleable, someone who was open to learning but also thinking for herself. She could only hope that her Athai's step-daughter would fit the description. **** Kundavai ran the Chozha Kingdom when both her brothers are away at war, but she needed the correct right hand woman, who would ideally marry Arulmozhi. Kundavai needed someone who could help her shape up Chozha Nadu when the men go out for conquering Kingdoms. Vanathi was exasperated with her timid nature, but knew that it was the shape of her past in behaviour; she loved learning, and was excited for the newness Pazhayarai and Thanjavur offered as compared to Kodumbalur. Vanathi, the said Princess, had lost her heart to Arulmozhi Varman, hailed as Ponniyin Selvan, the moment she had met him unintentionally by the banks of Mother Ponni, helping her rescue little birds. She is in happy daydreams and sad reality, when sudden conspiracies crash into her life, turning it topsy turvy unexpectedly. How do Ponniyin Selvan and the Kodumbalur Princess come together?
