The Grabber will exist in this AU, but not as a kidnapper freak because I don't want to make kidnapping scenes, I don't have the mental capacity for all that. He'll probably just be like a sweet or creepy ass neighbor, depending on how you take kindness, I guess.

This is also based on the movie "The Black Phone" which I highly recommend watching, including the second movie. In this town, there two never interacted, but was going to be forced to soon.. Even if they disliked each other. Vance Hopper was known for being aggressive, always unstable and on the verge of lashing out. In this town that made him popular. Vance was also known for his attitude, seen as someone who was always pushing someone to snap and then laugh of them. To put it blatantly, he was a bully and had no respect for anyone. Still, he had friends and a new girl wrapped around his finger every week. Vance has blonde curly hair, a mess mullet of curls, and sharp blue eyes. He was about 5'8 and 16 years old, still a sophomore because he had gotten held back. Bruce Yamada was known as The golden boy of the town, earning respect from his peers and even jealousy. Unlike Vance, Bruce was a kind person. He was popular, sure, but he didn't beat people up to earn that popularity. Bruce was a smart kid, he was amazing at a lot of things, like baseball. He was baseball team captain, and star pitcher. Bruce also went to church and helped people when they needed him. Bruce had friends, but not a loud group of boys like Vance's. It was calm, quiet, full of people he genuinely clicked with no matter their popularity status. Bruce had short shiny black hair, and soft brown eyes.
