One day, Vania father informs her that he is going to leave for a few weeks for a truce meeting. But as she later learns, she isn't guarded as much as she was before, previous to other trips. Using this opportunity to her advantage, Aliya, Vania's handmaiden decided to steal Vania away to a festival in the village, promising Vania that the king would never find out. Vania hated disobeying him, but it was only one time, right? He would never find out. She makes many friends, and has loads of fun as the one day turned into weeks of sneaking out. But little does she know about the danger. Danger lurking in the shadows and observing her.
