A new wannabe hero comes to Lakewood. Not having any idea on how to even become a hero, she ends up getting a nanny job. Will she still want to be a hero after? Who knows! Using various toxins found in animals of all sorts, the doctors extract healing from venom, honey from poison. VenoMedicine is the savior of ailments. Behind the scenes, however, yields a surprising discovery. Human subjects, all minors, are the key components of VenoMedicine's experiments. Or, at least, partially human. Merlin and his "escargatoire" are willing participants in the testings. They are glad to be making a difference in the world. But when one of them discovers that VenoMedicine is creating toxins for more than miracle healings, they know they have to try to stop the corporation. Just one problem. How does a band of venomous human hybrids save the world from poison?

Paisley Newman may be a preacher's daughter, but she sure doesn't act like it. Unlike what most people would expect from the offspring of such a saintly man and pure-hearted woman, Paisley prefers to party until the wee hours of the morning and hang out with her questionable friends. Of course, Paisley is pretty sure that something's up, and when she notices one of the most intimidating men she's ever laid eyes on is stalking her family, she decides that maybe, just maybe, her saintly, innocent father, might not be so saintly and innocent. And when his weird-ass, shockingly young friend begins to take an odd interest in her, she can't seem to help but become drawn in . . . . But what, exactly, is she drawn in TO? After seeing fink, k.o. was oddly afraid. Not bad as, "t.k.o. takes over my body" bad. It was good, like " Mr.Gar likes carol" good. But he didn't know how fink would react, or anybody else. He told fink the second time she came over, she kissed him and told him she felt the same. The only problem? How was everybody going to react to their newfound love?
