The streets were a theater, and he was the audience. Even if it meant very personal matters (such as sexual intimacy, which he was rather ashamed of). But all of that changed one night when he witnessed a beautiful young woman walking by his workshop, only to be brutally murdered by one of his clients, yet he idly stood by and did nothing. Since that day, Pendleton lived with sorrow and guilt for not acting. One night, two nights after witnessing the gruesome murder, being so driven with guilt, he shot himself. Many of us know the rest- he ends up in hell, goes under the alias of Sir Pentious, sacrifices himself for his friends (and Cherri Bomb, of course) and gets into Heaven as a redeemed soul.
