"I think the worst part isn't dying. It's knowing I'll be forgotten." Lydia Overbrook was never supposed to be the girl anyone remembered. A quiet fisherman's daughter from District 4, her plan was simple: survive long enough to be mercifully forgettable. But when she's reaped for the 69th Hunger Games, everything changes-including her. Thrown into a world of Capitol cruelty and deadly alliances, Lydia forms an unexpected connection with Alec, her enigmatic fellow tribute, whose secrets run deeper than she realises. As the Games draw blood and blur lines, Lydia must decide who she can trust... and what she's willing to risk for a boy who might just be her undoing. A slow-burn, heart-wrenching original tribute story told in two perspectives. If you love tragic romance, morally grey characters, and that classic Hunger Games heartbreak-this is for you.

"Tell me, Caesar, does my hair look shinier? I think my hair has gotten softer since I've been here- what is in Capital hair masks?" The crowd laughs. Some Capital girls touch their own hair at my comment. Caesar leans over his chair to twirl a streak of my hair around his finger, rubbing a few strands back and forth between his pointer finger and thumb, "Why yes, yes I do think it's gotten a good bit healthier since your time here." I smile. Caesar is as diligent as ever, moving forwards with what's left of our allotted time. He takes a more serious approach. "So, Jake." He turns to his audience, inviting them in on the conversation. "This must be quite the change." I don't get the time to process the implications, if any, of that assumption. "You've only just gotten here, and surely you haven't the time to take it all in." The crowd laughs again, I laugh with them, nodding politely. "What are you feeling? Excitement? Wonder? Perhaps some anxieties?" His tone gradually gets more sympathetic. I pause. "Y'all know those lions at the circus?" I don't bother coaching out my slang. Caesar looks at his crowd questionably and they laugh. His smile is unnaturally stretched. He nods at me to continue. "I sorta feel like them. Loads a' fun to watch, but you just 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 it wants to rip someone's head off." -------- Jake Holst comes from a middle class slaughtering quarter of District 10, and for the better half of three years has backpacked across Panem against all common sense. Barely cultured, and questionably legal in District 2, Jake is reaped into the 66th annual Hunger Games when the selected volunteer gets cold feet. Dodging questions about her accent, the brand on her collarbone, and a series of unidentified sharp objects being thrown her way, it's a long way down for Ms. Holst.

To millions, Julianna Winters is brilliance. To the media, she is mystery. To herself, she is breaking. The creator and queen of alternative music before she turned eighteen, Julianna is a voice the world worships and a woman the industry refuses to let breathe. Fame has taken everything from her except the one thing she can't outrun - the ache to be understood. Then she meets Michael Jackson. Their worlds collide at the 1984 Grammys, and Michael - already drowning beneath his own legend - recognizes the loneliness in her eyes because it mirrors his own. What begins as a chance encounter becomes a fragile refuge: two young artists hiding from the noise, slowly building something real in a world that keeps interrupting it. And then the world comes to take it. Because some people are loved for what they give, and never for who they are - and the ones who built their lives on these two would rather see them broken than free. Raw and deeply intimate, Heaven Knows My Name is a story about fame, faith, and the hidden wounds behind brilliance - a reminder that even the brightest stars can feel unbearably alone, and that being truly known by one person may be the only thing worth surviving for. No smut. No explicit language. Only truth, heart, and two souls trying to survive a world that never learned how to love them gently.

Los Angeles, 1978. By twenty years old, April Bellamy already understands how the entertainment industry works. She knows how quickly talent becomes a commodity. How easily ambition can be mistaken for worth. How often people are rewarded for performing versions of themselves that have little to do with who they actually are. When her career brings her into the orbit of Michael Jackson, she expects another industry friendship-pleasant, temporary, and ultimately transactional. Instead, she finds someone who understands. Their friendship grows in recording studios, family kitchens, Hollywood parties, darkrooms, late-night phone calls, and long drives through Los Angeles. Beneath the glamour, success, and spectacle, both are struggling with the same question: what remains of a person when their image belongs to everyone else? While the world watches a star being manufactured in real time, April witnesses the private cost of perfection, the labor hidden behind performance, and the loneliness that can exist inside extraordinary success. At the same time, she finds herself confronting her own history, her family, and the role she's been playing for so long she no longer knows where the performance ends. When the Lights Go Out is a coming-of-age story about friendship, identity, exploitation, and survival in an industry built on consumption. It is a portrait of two young people trying to remain human while the world turns them into something else.
