After the loss of his mother, Gabriel became abusive towards his son; resulting in cruel, ruthless beatings & torture every day & night for Adrien. A new day, new bruises, scars & cuts, but a same old thing to cry about; leaving him vulnerable & courage-less to tell anyone. It worsened when he got into a fight with Cheri after blindly agreeing to a deal with his other classmate Marinette Dupain-Cheng; who was unhealthily obsessed with him; resulting in his soul being owned by her.
