The business is doing very well because the locals of Shanghai knew that the foods made out of the plants and flowers from the garden of the Xu's were affecting them in a certain way. The biscuits made of lilac jelly that were pre-ordered by the botanists were rumored to make someone keep a secret. The dandelion buds that were fried and mixed with rice that have marigold petals, the stuffed pumpkin blossoms and the rose-hip soup that were all rumored to make someone appreciate all the good things, without leaving any bad words. Timmy Xu - a well known caterer in Shanghai had his business since his grandmother died. Johnny Huang - an art professor in the nearby university who is new to Shanghai. The story about the one who is afraid of being left behind and the one who wants some changes in his daily life.

Yu Shuxin has loved Ding Yuxi for years, confessing her feelings repeatedly, only to be rejected each time. Despite the rejections, she continues to follow him, hoping he might notice her. On her 99th confession, Ding Yuxi, exhausted and frustrated, harshly vents his anger on her. Heartbroken, Yu Shuxin drives away in tears on a rainy evening and ends up in a car accident.
