A girl, Violet Harmon and her boyfriend Tate Langdon are taking a trip to a cabin in the woods with a beautiful lake. It was Tate's dads old cabin they always went to when he was younger. They have a great time until 3 people break in at night. The 3 people recognize Tate from one of his darkest secrets he hasn't told Violet. The secret is revealed by the intruders and Violet doesn't know what to do.

After attempting to commit suicide, Kelsey must attend therapy sessions with Dr. Harmon. Therapy seems horrible... but what will happen when a mysterious boy named Tate shows up?

Chad and Patrick are Violets foster parents. They later decide they want to add another member to the family, Tate. Violet and Tate grow up together and develop strong emotions towards each other, but both are afraid to show it, since they are considered brother and sister.
