All the Pridelanders knew Safi. You couldn't miss her with her extra bangs of hair and distinctive blue eyes, or that she was almost always in the company of King Simba himself or Prince Kion, and sometimes both. Everyone reasoned that, with King Simba and Prince Kion watching over her, Safi would grow up to be a very happy, cheerful, well ~ groomed cub. But they also knew she had a past: a past she never talked about, and, when people did ask her, she flinched, or dodged the questions she was posed. As if she didn't want to talk about it. It was also generally known Safi's "family" in Pride Rock was not her own, but, rather, one she had herself chosen. Only Safi knew her full story, and she was playing things very close to the chest, despite concerned voices often following her wherever she went. She would not tell anyone her secret. At least until the day came when Safi's past was standing in front of her and talking to her.

After Zira's defeat, Vitani tries to settle into her new life in the Pridelands. Some creatures don't trust her. Even some of the pride are distrustful of her. She begins to feel lonely and isolated. She longs to have the acceptance of the pride, and be comfortable in her new home. Will she find acceptance and purpose, or will she realize life in the Pridelands isn't for her? Vitani was born in a palace, along with her two brothers; Nuka and Kovu. When her cousin Simba murders her father, to become king, Vitani and her family are exiled, along with all those who were loyal to her father. Now all grown up, Vitani's mother Zira, has one thing on her mind, revenge. Zira is bent on turning Vitani's little brother into a weapon, to take down Simba, and win the war. At first, Vitani is on board with the idea, but when she sees the toll this war is taking on her family, she starts to lose faith in her mother's cause...
