A Wilbran fanfic about a boy who stayed and a boy who finally learned how to leave. When Wilson left his hometown to attend college across the country, he didn't think he was going to be leaving a lot more than his town. A year later, Wilson returned back in Georgetown for the summer.

The summer following his junior year of high school was not looking great for Wilson Taylor. Firstly, after hiding it for years, he was outed as a Trans man, which, in this Texan town didn't earn him any respect. It only made him a target for bullying as well as the center of gossip for old people. Everybody hated him but his childhood best friend Bran, which leads us to his second issue. His embarrassing crush on him. It had been going on for as long as he had known Bran, and Bran was straight. He needed to make it go away. Brando Connell has always sort of hated himself. What's not to hate? He distanced himself from his parents because he couldn't handle being called sinful. He was quiet. He ignored his problems long enough to forget about them. And, most importantly, had been in love with Wilson Taylor for years. His future was not looking bright. Being gay in Texas was like personally offending everyone you walk past. Nobody could know that though, he was somewhat popular at school. He wasn't sure how that came to be, but he couldn't ruin it. He wouldn't ruin it. And, most importantly, he couldnt put poor Will through more than he already had been. ... What I think happened during and in between the wishbone trilogy music videos! Wilson has never gotten over anything in his life. Much less the boy he thought was going to be with him forever. But after waking up alone in a hotel room with no trace of his lover anywhere, and no small amount of closure, he's left to go on with his life, wondering what happened. Until he finally decides to go back for the summer. Brando thought he'd moved on. He'd gotten another job, dated a few other people, hung out with his friends at every opportunity. But when a random text message from a mutual friend tells him his ex flame will be back in town, everything suddenly comes right back. So what now?

The Thornfield's and the Scott's have always been close, ever since Mary met Laura back in high school all those years ago. However, their sons, Wilson Thornfield and Brando Scott, have never seemed to get along. Wilson always found Brando to be loud and obnoxious. Brando always found Wilson to be too quiet and snarky. And every year, like clockwork, both families go to the woods for their yearly Christmas getaway. One week, one lodge, two families. Brando and Wilson usually have an unspoken truth to stay out of each other's way. However, on the night that the adults go out to town for their annual night out, a snowstorm hits, preventing them from driving back. Cutting out the phone signals. Locking the boys inside. Together. With no technology. As secrets begin to unravel, truths get brought to life, and the hatred that guarded the boys slowly began to melt in front of the flickering flames.
