What was supposed to be a simple night in her dorm became a mostly one-way trip to space for Anya. All because her brother asked her to help the team "bond". Well, they're bonding alright---in space, fighting an alien war because they stumbled across an alien warship of a lion. Of course this is how she ends up spending the last of her teenage years. ********* "Hey," Keith called, and I looked at him. "You good?" I nodded, taking a deep breath. "Fine. Why?" He shrugged, and I noticed he'd put his knife up. "You look paler," he said, standing. "Than the last time we saw each other, I mean." "You mean when you and Griffin got into that fight right before you dropped out?" I raised my eyebrow at him, crossing my arms. "He's still mad about that one, you know." "Eh, that doesn't surprise me," he said, matching my stance. "Between his ego and his ego, I wouldn't have expected much else. Since when did you call him Griffin?" "Does that really matter?" He considered it a moment, then shook his head. "I guess not. We've got bigger things to worry about, anyway." I nodded, looking toward the sunrise. Shiro had woken up a little while ago, and now he stood on the cliff, watching as the sun rose. After so long in space, I didn't blame him. I'd probably take my time to enjoy that view, too, if I were him. Could never get sick of it. "You should talk to him," I said, looking at Keith. "Make sure he's okay." He nodded, walking away.
