Vienna Sinclair has spent years building walls around herself. Once an emotional child who cried at everything, she learned to harden up-because in her world, showing softness only made you a target.
And Danny Castaldi made sure of that.
Her next-door neighbor and lifelong thorn in her side, Danny has been picking at her defenses since they were kids-putting roly-polies in her drawers, cutting the hair off her dolls, and never missing a chance to get under her skin. Being neighbors would be bad enough, but their families are close too, which means there's no escape. Every birthday, holiday, and family gathering, Danny is there-smirking like he owns the place.
Now seniors in high school, nothing has changed. At least, not at first.
But when small cracks begin to show in the version of Danny she's always known, Vienna starts to realize something unsettling: maybe he isn't the cruel, one-dimensional bully she's built up in her mind her entire life. And maybe she isn't as unaffected by him as she thought.
Because underneath years of teasing, there might be something else entirely-and it's getting harder for them both to ignore.
