Before Sam left for Fall semester Charlie told her about his letters. He also gave Sam his pen pal address if she wanted to talk to someone that didn't knew her personally. So now she writes letters to Charlie and his friend.

I had known you my entire life. From the moment we were born, our lives had been tied together in ways neither of us really chose.
