I was born deaf. When my mother died, I didn't see the point in living anymore. I was pointless. My existence had no purpose. I needed it so badly that it hurt. Even after I started waking up early to go out to the bay (aka 'my special place'), when I did sort of have a purpose, it still wasn't normal. So, I came up with the idea to use my entire inheritance to get my hearing back and, while that seemed like a good idea at the time, I didn't realise the complications that I would have to endure to live an ordinary life. Will luck and fate win out, or will I always be tortured by the absence of sound in my life?

Everytime I walk down he hallway, into a room, if feel it. I can feel the stares of digust and harted boring into my skull. Mom says it's just paranoia. I don't feel like it is. I feel like I'm losing my grip on happiness. Letting everything slip from my grasp. My best friend, my family, my self worth. I wish I had a burn book for all those people who have wronged me and I've said nothing. I wish for someone who I can tell everything to without them judging me. Judgement. I hate it. I wish someone understood me.

I don't know why my best work is from my pain and my anger. Though it seems like I've lost happiness, it also seems I have lost my ability to create. One of the few poems I've been able to correctly etch out recently is this one.
