Mallory [who is later unoffically renamed Y/N by her Lady's Maid Euphoria] is given up by her family to Wammy's House because she has "no use for the family anymore." She excludes herself to avoid getting used, but due to the unfortunate increase in children, people are forced to be roomed together, and she's roomed with the outsider named Mello. Everyday, she journals her journeys of despair and wish to be removed from the world but when she finally speaks up to Mello, each word crumbles his walls. Mello, Near and Matt are the top three students at Wammy's House, training to take after the famous L as the worlds next greatest detective. Matt: an anti-social gamer, Mello: an overly aggressive blonde and Near: an extremely intelligent asocial albino, although Matt and Mello are best friends... trouble starts when Near is in the picture. How will they work together when the three rivals are surprised by L himself coming to the Wammy's House Orphanage to ask them to help him solve a case soon to be known as the Beyond Birthday Murder Case... will they find the murderer? To, The one who comes across this entry, I am Nate River, or more commonly, Near. I am currently working on a case and in my current position I am unsure of my future. I have decided to write my life experiences here, you see, it would put my mind at rest to know that someone out there would know my story. So with that I thank you.

Six. What does that word mean to you? Just by looking you should be able to tell it's a number. But is it a big number? Not necessarily. By definition, it's actually rather small. Let me set the scene. It was midday and there were charcoal clouds in the sky indicating it was about to rain. There was a distinct smell of seaweed and exhaust fumes in the air. Just another normal day in Tokyo, Japan. This particular story starts just on the edge of the city where the houses and buildings begin to thin out. Inside a grey, one-story house, a little girl's life was about to change. For the better or worse, you'll have to wait and see.

Mello never had that many friends while he grew up at Wammy's House, however he had just one. One friend that was willing to put up with all of Mello's issues. But when Mello begins to develop feelings for his friend, what could possibly happen between them?

Lying monsters are a real nuisance: They are much more cunning than others. They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they've never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. I'm going to leave this story up because I know some people seem to like it, but I probably will never continue it (or if I did I would probably have to rewrite a lot of it) But if anyone else feels like continuing the story - feel free! Let me know if you do! Happy reading ^_^ Bridget is Matsudas sister, well, half sister. Anyway, Bridget dreams of meeting L, well, maybe not. Bridget is confusing. All you as a reader need to know is that Bridget is a friendly character that just wants to help L solve the Kira case. And you know what?, she might just get the chance.
