Mello, Near and Matt are the top three students at Wammy's House, training to take after the famous L as the worlds next greatest detective. Matt: an anti-social gamer, Mello: an overly aggressive blonde and Near: an extremely intelligent asocial albino, although Matt and Mello are best friends... trouble starts when Near is in the picture. How will they work together when the three rivals are surprised by L himself coming to the Wammy's House Orphanage to ask them to help him solve a case soon to be known as the Beyond Birthday Murder Case... will they find the murderer? Story takes place after the Kira case, when a new case arises. (y/n) (l/n), one of the smartest girls to live and Near's life long 'friend' and competition, becomes the prime suspect in the boy's newest case. Once travelling back to England, Nate River begins to investigate the new killings and crimes sweeping through England, claiming many lives. The emotionless detective stumbles upon a file of one of the prime suspects, (y/n) (l/n). A mysterious character whose intelligence could challenge his own. Will old feelings of a so called friendship creep up once more? How will investigating his life long friend affect their relationship? Or will new feelings begin to arise? (I have based the characters off the anime as I have not read the manga yet. Also, Matt and Mello are still alive! Yay!) (I don't own any of the original characters from Death Note)

Beyond Birthday. Some know him as a killer, there's no denying it, he was. Others may know him as 'The First Generation' of L's successors. I know him as a friend, a very close friend. This is an Beyond Birthday Fanfiction, where an OC (original character) will feature.

when matt mello and near get a request from l to come live with him, there world's get thrown upside down. will mello find out about Matt's true feelings for him and more importantly, will he feel the same...

Panic, pain, anxiety. Panic attacks plagued you for your entire life, holding back your potential and strength to be L's successor back at Wammy's house. Only L's great stories soothed your anxiety for a prolonged period of time. Now that L has died, your attacks have been getting worse. The recently-solved Kira case has left you all traumatized after seeing your close friend (Mello) and your boyfriend (Matt) nearly die. You have to thank Near (and his quick thinking) for saving their lives. Now, you three are a bunch of stupid kids working for the FBI, the CIA and as a video game beta tester, with nothing better to do. Matt has tried his best to help you cope with your anxiety, but he really doesn't know what to do. He has his own problems with ADHD and gaming. (You can't really blame him.) Mello has also changed after the Kira case. He has been moody an irritable lately. You've been desperately searching for a cure, for all of your mental states. What is the one thing now, that can fix all the problems?

Two terrified children, L and J, find themselves crossing paths. I will narrate their story, so that it is known how things came to be as they are now. ((LxOC))

Halo is teenage girl of the human species who attends Wammy's house. She is friends with Matt and Mello and enemies with Near. The first few chapters are about her and her many, wonderful adventures at Wammy's House. The others following those are about her getting involved in the Kira investigation. How will she change the story? Is she Pro-Kira or Anti-Kira? Does she become L's successor? Does she catch Kira by herself? Is she a part of the Mafia, SPK, or Japanese Task Force? Read the fanfiction to find out yourself. Death Note belongs to Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba. The only thing that I own is Halo and her story.

Grace has grown up in Wammy's House always in the shadow of L. When L returns back home after his latest case, he makes it his mission to get to know her better, despite it being the last thing she wants. Set a few months before the Kira case.
