College ki ek professor-student love story se shuru hua Kartik aur Naira ka safar, kai galatfahmiyon, dard, imtihaanon aur mohabbat ke har rang se guzarta hua shaadi tak pahuncha. Lekin kya shaadi hi unki kahaani ka happy ending thi? Nahi... Yeh toh sirf ek nayi shuruaat hai. Khayal Tera 2 ek aisi kahaani hai jo dikhayegi ki asli pyaar sirf ek-doosre ko paane mein nahi, balki har din ek-doosre ko nibhane mein hota hai. Nayi zimmedariyaan, naye sapne, naye rishte, naye imtihaan... aur har mushkil ke beech Kartik aur Naira ka ek hi vaada- "Chahe waqt kitna bhi badal jaaye... mera khayal hamesha tera hi rahega."
