By marrying for love, Owen Tudor has put his own life jeopardy. The Dowager Queen of England would normally be completely out of reach for a humble knight, but ten years of marriage later Owen doesn't regret a thing. But, with the Queen dying, his own life is cheap when her teenage son, the new king of England, discovers his existence. Keeping his family safe is about to be more complicated than he ever imagined, especially when his stepson appears to accept him. Running away is easy, learning to trust the son of the man who murdered his father is far harder. Based on true events. (All the Hand in Hand books are tangentially related to the Violent Delights series, but are all stand alone, you can start reading anywhere with any of them and it'll make sense, if you want to go in chronological order the Violent Delights series is numbered. This one takes place in the mid 1400s) Trigger/Content Warning: a main character suffers from PTSD, and grief at the loss of a spouse. Significant character death. Some traumatic moments to do with family bonding may be unsettling for some readers. Rape is discussed. Homophobia is depicted and discussed. Some blood violence. Brief profanity.
